In 2013, the Sustainable Business Council Future Leaders explored solutions to one of New Zealand’s most pressing social issues: youth unemployment. This paper sets out their key findings and recommendations. The focus of this paper is why business should care and how they can get involved in solving the problem. The aim of this paper is to inspire business to take action in supporting young people’s transition from secondary education to their next stage of life: to see young people as assets, bring them on board in their business and invest in them.
