Kia ora. I am Raewyn Jones, and I am the Manager of WEL Energy Trust, a community Trust in the heart of the Mighty Waikato. I recognise that innovation and new thinking are required to deliver simple and practical solutions for our communities’ greatest challenges. I have a long-held interest in Impact Investment as a tool to make a measurable difference on wicked problems, and in early 2017 I attended the Oxford Impact Investment Programme at the Said Business School, in Oxford, UK.
I’ve since been an active participant in the ‘coalition of the willing’ that formed New Zealand’s Impact Investment Network, and have been a keen supporter in ‘field building’ activities around the country, as well as implementing an impact investment strategy for our Trust, and as a member of the National Advisory Board for Impact Investment.
Prior to engaging in the philanthropic sector, I enjoyed an international and varied career path in a range of roles including as a Japanese Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire in the UK, and as CEO of the Chamber of Commerce in Cambridge, New Zealand. These roles have helped to develop my passion for connecting people and ideas to create better outcomes for all. I'd be very happy to connect with you!
